Psalm 1: 2-3

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

Delight yourself in the Lord

A call into Christian living. (Mathew 6:25-34, Philipians 4:4-9)

Perhaps one the biggest challenges facing a number of Christians especially newly converted believers is the question of how they are expected to live their lives after coming to Christ. You see it is one thing to accept the offer of salvation and the commitment to be a follower of Christ, while it is quite another proposition entirely to live as one.

Facing the reality of being a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
It can be said that perhaps the biggest challenge facing believers today is not the threat posed by the enemy even though in many quarters the enemy appear to have been given a status that commands so much attention from them,

Beware of dogs...

Philippians 3:2  Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision
One of the mistakes many believers often make in their study of the scripture is to come across verses like this and to automatically assume they are addressed to those outside the church especially because of the strong language used.

Renewed in the attitude of the mind-the starting point

“To be made new in the attitude of your minds” - Ephesians 4:23

What can we take away from this passage today? Well one thing that really struck me is that, although as believers we agree that the call to faith demands a change and transformation from us, something which many are willing to do, sadly some of us do not really know what sort of change and which part of our lives these changes ought to start from.

Food For The day

Then the Israelites retreated,  but Eleazar stood his ground and struck down the Philistines till his hand grew tired and froze to the sword. The LORD brought about a great victory that day.- 2 Samuel 23:9b -10.

Before you give in to the defeat that is staring you in the face, I want you to pause and meditate on this scripture verse. You see what stood between Eleazar and defeat was his refusal to give up his ground even in the face of fatigue, unlike the others who retreated in defeat. Instead he made a stand refusing to quit the battle ground, as a result the Lord used his endurance to bring about a great victory. You see faith without endurance cannot produce the desired result, therefore stand your ground, refuse to wilt you are closer to your breakthrough than you’ve ever imagined.

Hebrews 12:1
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,”
