John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Judge yourself soberly....

For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgement, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.- Romans 12:3

Perhaps one of the major causes of conflict in the life of a man is his inability to humbly appraise himself with the aim of being able to appreciate first himself and from whatever that exercise delivers to him learn to appreciate others.

About relationships...

Genesis 13:8-9 Then Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen. Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right, or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left.”

As humans, relationships play an essential part in our day to day well being in our sojourn here on earth, and they go a long way towards shaping our life be it in a positive or negative way.

The power of His mercy

Genesis 4:14-15 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the ground; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth; and it will come to pass, that whosoever findeth me will slay me. And Jehovah said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And Jehovah appointed a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should smite him.

In todays passage we encounter an interesting conversation between Cain and God, shortly after Cain had killed Abel his brother and as a result God pronounced a punishment upon him.

Where are you coming from and where are you going ?

Genesis16: 7 – 10. The angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur. And he said, “Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from and where are you going?” She said, “I am fleeing from my mistress Sarai.” The angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress and submit to her.” The angel of the Lord also said to her, “I will surely multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude.” ...

Food For The day

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service- Romans 12:1.

In the light of what God has done for you through Jesus, what do you think you can give back in return? Your money?, An hour or two on Sundays?, Lip service?, Or your indifference? Surely God deserves more than that although what he asks for in return is nothing compared to what he gave to us. He wants a simple sacrifice which consist of setting ourselves apart from the world and that through the knowledge of him and his ways, make a difference such that would bring him glory and honour. Surely this is not too much to ask for.

Matthew 7:7-8
“[Ask, Seek, Knock] ?Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
