John 6:35

Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor - Isaiah 55:5

Resist the temptation to conform

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world..........

If we take some time to meditate on this short but profound instruction, we would discover a whole lot of truth and gain significant insight into why the Christian faith especially the Church of Christ now appears to be faced with the crisis of credibility while she watches as her moral authority is being called to question.

The day of small things

Zechariah 4:10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

The scripture ask an important question of us today, demanding to know.about those who despised the day of small things or humble beginning as some other translations records it. We may indeed expand this question to also say that the scripture also wants to know why such would also despise the days of humble beginning.

His ways are different from ours

Isaiah 55: 6 - 9 “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
One of the ways through which those of us who call upon the name of God can easily become vulnerable and succumb to anxiety, worry and lack of peace is when we ignore certain points about God and the manner of relationship we have with him. Man since his fall has cultivated a rebellious nature and as a result has been in the battle of will with his God.

Does God still speak

Ezekiel 14:2-3 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, Son of man, these men have taken their idols into their heart, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their face: should I be inquired of at all by them?

One question that readily comes to the mind of almost every believer is the quest to know if God still speaks. We ask does God still really speak to people as the scripture makes out.

Do not give in to offence

Matthew 18:7-9 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes! If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.  And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.
There are couple of hard truth which our Lord taught to his disciples, let us spend some time to examine them in addition to the wisdom we can gain from them. Our Lord spoke of the offences that is the world, i want you to know

Food For The day

Obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:9.

It quite easy to forget this truth and take our eyes off the main goal of our faith in the midst of the many messages that abound as well as the ones we heap up for ourselves. It is easy to reduce the salvation that God made available to us in Christ as a tool for meeting our earthly needs alone. It is easy to equate the accumulation of wealth, good job, and the comforts of this life as the approval in the sight of God and hence the main goal of our faith. While those who are yet to experience this may feel on the other hand that the goal of their faith is far from being met. This is a dangerous place to be, while it is good to rejoice and give thanks when God blesses us with material blessings, we must reserve the biggest celebration for the ultimate goal of our walk of faith- the salvation of our soul. The material blessings would come and go away, we would leave them behind someday, they serve and fill a temporary void in the life of every human. But the main goal of our faith secures for us eternal peace and a place of rest for our soul, seriously it is the main trophy worth striving for, it is the only trophy which those who do not know Christ cannot lay their hands upon. Hence the need to work on our faith with fear and trembling so that we do not fail to obtain this trophy. But if the only aim of our coming to Christ is to be in the position to flaunt and boast of earthly possessions alone, then we are the most miserable of all God's creation.

James 1:12
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”
