Isaiah 55 : 1-2

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labour on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.

Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor - Isaiah 55:5

Saying it is as it is....

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The doctor finished reading the medical report in front of him lifted up his head , stared at the rich powerful politician patient in front of him and said 'Sir going by the reports before me, if you do not change your lifestyle, your eating habbits, cut out the smoking and drinking while doing more exercises.....you will die pretty soon'.
The Engineer finished reading the report before him, lifted up his head and addressed the eminent members of the building committee

A Prisoner of Hope

Zechariah 9:12 Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double.

While it is quite easy for one to read this passage and be delighted by the declaration and proclamation of double blessings, there is of course another salient point such must equally take to heart else such might be holding onto a bubble that would be deflated very soon.

You are accountable for every miracle, signs and wonders received or witnessed

Mathew 11:20 — 21 Then he began to denounce the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent. “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

At some point in time in the our walk of faith, we need to sit down and take stock by asking ourselves some real questions about our faith, one of the question we need to ask ourselves is...what role does signs and wonders play in faith?

What makes our fate in this life as believers different from others?

Mathew 7:24 -27 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

One of the many blind spots in our walk of faith is revealed by the message from today's passage. Let us ask the question, what makes our fate in this life as believers different from others? Bear with me a little when i use the word 'believers', it is a bit loose in its application, but our Lord tightened this by clarifying for us the true meaning of what a believer is....he described such as..'everyone who hears and obeys his words by putting them to use'.

The mark of a disciple - What do you have to give?

Act 3:3 — 5 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.”And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.

It is easy for us to read this passage and simply move on without being challenged by it, while believing that what was recorded here is something beyond our ability. We would be wrong, this i say because whatever Peter and John did, whatever they gave to the man came from what they had received from Jesus.

Food For The day

I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. – Mark 11:23.

The faith that moves mountains is not about believing alone; rather it is a combination of actions. Believing without corresponding action is a form of self deception, for out of the abundance of the heart a man speaks. Faith with no confession to back it up produces little or no result. Mountain moving faith says,’ because I believe it, I confess it’. Such faith demands that you declare it according to what you believe. Spend some time today declaring it accordingly.

Hebrews 12:1
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,”
