Psalm 1: 2-3

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

White washed wall

Then Paul said to him, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! For you sit to judge me according to the law, and do you command me to be struck contrary to the law?”- Acts 23:3.

To say that we live in interesting times in the course of human history would perhaps be an understatement especially with the numerous events and activities going around us. The kingdom of God is within you

Luke 17:20-23 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.  And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.

The question about the operation of faith

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. – Romans 10:17

For many believers we have heard about faith being taught over and over by many teachers and the word as well as the message behind it would no longer be strange to us. But from time to time when this topic is revisited certain truths jump at us and they do so in order to help us get a better understanding of this precious word.

Living in the world with the consciousness of an upward call

“One thing I do forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ (Philippians 3:13-14).

As we live out the days that the good Lord has lovingly and graciously bequeathed to us on earth in this body of flesh, we remain conscious of and are expected to be committed to a number of issues that daily demands our attention in addition to some form of response from us as well. While a number of them would be issues that surround us and occupy our day to day activities, issues such as job and career commitments, marriage and family commitments as well as peer pressures coupled with the demand to meet up to certain expectations both in life and in the community. All of these it must be said demand our time and attention.

His Confessions and Testimonies

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy – Psalm 107:2

Let the Redeemed of the Lord say so, let them boldly declare it that it might be established instructs the scriptures, but the question arises, what is the language and what is the confession of the redeemed? What manner of speech should proceed from the mouth of the redeemed? What motivates these confessions? What should the testimony of the redeemed be?  Where are the testimonies and the confessions of the redeemed coming from?

Food For The day

Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favouritismbut accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.  - Acts 10:34-35.

We are so quick and find it rather too easy to ascribe partiality to God using this to explain away the reason why our faith does not appear to be producing much for us. This we do by ignoring the position of the scripture and every attribute of God that makes it impossible for him to be partial. The truth be told, God is not partial, rather we need to understand that he has set a standard by which he accepts and deals with everyone- the standard is faith (Romans 1:16-17). The scripture talks about a crowd of witness that we are surrounded by (Hebrews 11, 12:1), it did not stop there, but had this to say to us as well:That you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:12.

Hebrews 7:25
“Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”
