Psalm 1: 2-3

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor - Isaiah 55:5

The Place Called Peniel

Print PDF

So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying 'It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared'. - Genesis 32: 30

For those who are familiar with the story of Jacob, the name or the place called Peniel would not sound strange to them at all, I say so because of the event that took place at this place. For the sake of those who not are familiar with the story, let us revisit this place and recapture the event that took place there and why it is worth talking about.

You have been born again-You are indeed a new person

"I tell you the truth no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born again" (John 3:3)

There are couple of divine and biblical truths that I would like to share with you about our new status, the one that is conferred on us when we become a born again believer. I want you to know that being born again is not a fad nor is it some fanciful tag that we are given to impress our fellow Christian believers. Neither is it some title for dressing up our faith. The reason why it is not so is because there are certain truths that you and I need to understand about what becoming born again delivers  us into.

Fighting temptations

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. - 1 Corinthians 10:13.

Temptation is one word that we are all familiar with as believers and for many of us it is one word that puts fear in us because it has come to be associated with everything that our faith disapproves of.

You now have dominion over sin

Print PDF

No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God  (1 John 3:9).

After reading this verse perhaps the honest question that would readily come to mind would be, how true is the declaration above? How true can this be in the face of the many struggles that almost all believers go through with temptation and sin? The boldness to

Food For The day

You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. – Acts 8:21

Many believers like Simon the Sorcerer would not hesitate to ask for the gift of God in addition to the blessings which those gifs bequeaths to those who walk in them. There is nothing wrong with this after all for every believer that God calls his child, these are heirs by inheritance. What many struggle to come to terms with is when it appears as if these are being denied them and they wonder aloud- why? Peter told Simon the reason why he was disqualified from what he sought after; that the state of his heart was not right before God. Many may still struggle to accept this position ..after all we have been made right with God in Christ they would say. True, but our hearts in this case is not right with God when the motives driving the desire is wrong and is driven purely by lust, selfishness and greed, just as Apostle James pointed out (James 4:1-4). What should I do, well let us begin by asking for forgiveness and for our heart to be made right with God.

Hebrews 12:1
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,”
