John 6:49 -50

Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die.

Our Attitude in the midst of trials

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try (examine, test, challenge) you, as though some strange thing happened to you; - 1Peter 4:12.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.- Psalms 34:19.

The attitude we need to hold onto when facing or going through trials is broken down into two parts. The first part is that which says we must not see whatever is happening to us as something strange or something out of order. Rather what we need to understand in the midst of what we are going through is the position of God, where he stands and what he is going to do that really counts. And this brings us to the second part, the part which says we must remain upbeat even in the face of trials because God has promised to deliver us from every one of those trials. This attitude makes it's boast and takes it's assurances from the unfailing love of God and what it promises us in all situations. In the midst of these trials we make our confessions from these truths that has become settled in us.
