Expectation creates the atmosphere for faith to work

When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, Look at us! So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk. Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. - Acts 3:5-8.

People often wonder why the walk of faith seems to profit some while it appears not to some others, if only we can understand the role which expectation plays in creating the atmosphere which enables miracles and breakthroughs to happen, then we would begin to appreciate the power of expectation unleashed by faith.

Expectation can be seen as the magnet that draws your breakthrough closer and closer to you until it becomes your possession. It was expectation that made Zacchaeus to climb up the three (Mathew 19 :1-9), his actions was driven by his expectations and it did not fail to draw the attention of Jesus to him, as Jesus looked up and called up to him and as a result, salvation came to his home. You see Zacchaeus was confronted by certain limitations both spiritual and physical. He was a short man his size was an impediment in his attempt to see Jesus. As is that was not bad enough he was a sinner, he knew it and hence his urgent desire for salvation. So desperate was he for salvation that he refused to allow these impediments to hinder him, his expectations ensured that he was not hindered. His expectation created the atmosphere that got him his breakthrough.

I mentioned earlier on, the case of the lame man, you see he was not expecting to be healed , I mean he was born a lame man, but nevertheless he was expecting something from the hands of the Apostles, it can be said that his expectation created the atmosphere that got him his miracle. Strong expectations will create the atmosphere for miracle to take place. You see, Jesus could not do much miracle among his own people and in his own village, because the faith of his people was not enough to stir up any form of expectation in them, the result was that they were lukewarm in their attitude towards him. In contrast, the Centurion by his faith and the expectations it created was able to create the atmosphere that got his servant healed (Mathew 8:13). When he inquired about time the servant got healed, he was told it was about the time when he released his faith via his expectations.

You see we need to understand how faith works, expectation is the manifestation of the faith we profess, our faith can be seen and measured by the power of expectation it is able to create. When expectation is high the atmosphere becomes charged with the power to bring about breakthrough. When the atmosphere is charged up with the power of expectation, there is released into the atmosphere the power of anointing so powerful such that miracles begin to happen.

Ask yourself again how was the woman with the issue of blood able to create the atmosphere for her healing even without Jesus saying anything to her, how was she able in the midst of the crowd to create the atmosphere that got for her the healing she sought for? You say faith, to which I agree , but ask yourself do you think in that crowd she was the only one who had faith? You see the power of her expectation was what made the difference and boy! what a remarkable difference that was.

Psalm 1:1-2
“[BOOK I Psalms 1?41] Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.”
