John 6:49 -50

Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die.

Guard your foundation

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? – Psalm 11:3.

The one who is called righteous need to be very careful and do everything possible to protect the very foundation that earned him the right to such title. He is called righteous for certain reasons, he earned the right to be called as a result of certain core truths which form the basis upon which his righteousness is built. It is therefore sheer folly for the righteous to ignore these truths while strutting about with the title. Such is like a snail without a shell and a knight going into battle without his armour. The scripture made this point obvious with the question.

- What can the righteous do when the foundation is destroyed? The answer is very little or nothing at all.
