John 6:48

I am the bread of life.

Not without a vision.

Genesis 15:5 Then He brought him outside and said, Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them. And He said to him, So shall your descendants be.

The importance of vision in the journey of a man here on earth is of such importance that it cannot be waved aside. A man without a vision in life, is like a traveler without a destination or any sense of direction, such would keep on heading to nowhere until they burn themselves out.

The truth must be told, our sojourn here is for a purpose, we are not here without one, and that purpose is shaped and given essence by vision. While some men are able to see this vision at such an early stage of their lives, not only do they come into this vision early in life, but they are also able to identify and walk consistently with it refusing to be distracted from it. For some, they would come into it later in life while sadly for some others, they would remain blind and unable to come into the vision that is meant to guide them in their journey in life. The truth be told,  the position of God is that every man be equipped with a vision, he ordained one for everyone right from the time they were in the womb(Jeremiah1:5, Romans 9:17), but this position of God is one of the many blessings which the fall of man compromised. The effect is manifested in many ways

He called Abraham and gave him a vision, he called Moses and made his vision clearer, he gave Joseph a vision, he gave Jeremiah a vision, he gave Adam a vision.

Some men end up walking with other people's vision, they simply lack originality, what they are running with in life is simply someone else's vision, it could be a vision saddled upon them by their parents, by society or by their peers. For those in this category, it could even be a vision they chose to be inspired by as result of herd mentality, take for example many would rush into a certain a career, the only vision or inspiration being to make money and nothing else. Many people joined the train to travel outside the country in search of the golden fleece simply because everyone they knew did so, not because it was an inspired vision. Such would fall into the category of those who run with other people's vision. Because it was not their vision, they always fall short and quite unable to make anything out of it. They remain baffled and frustrated wondering why others appear to be making it and having it easy while doing the same thing.

For those who do not have one, life is even worse, they simply appear to be going nowhere, they become drifters, always ready to do anything but unable to find satisfaction in any. It is a matter of time before they become, frustrated, angry and bitter at everything and everyone. Their take on life comes under this state of mind, and they struggle in everything they do never seeing anything worth celebrating in life, not even their own.

But there are those who either stumble upon their own God given vision or simply looked unto the LORD for a vision that is inspired by him, such would go on to live a fulfilled life, an extra ordinary life, a life where they are celebrated and where their legacies live on long after them. Do not be surprised when I say that a man can stumble upon his God given vision, the fall of man did not and cannot stop the plan of God for creation, throughout the different dispensation of man on earth, God has always managed to give vision to men even when they do not know or acknowledge him, in order that he may use them to impact their generation for his glory.

There are couple of things I want you to know about the vision inspired by God and they are

a. It is inspired by the spirit of God and it is available to everyone. That you are not walking with one now does not mean it is not available.

b. Because it is inspired by God, it would appear intimidating, it would dwarf us because it going to be bigger than us.

c. It is never too late to be given one to run with, Abraham came into his at the age of 70.

d. No man can oppose the vision inspired by heaven, because it is fully backed by the resources of heaven.

e. Nevertheless it would draw the attention of the opposition, do not be surprised by the fierce opposition that you would encounter, Joseph was opposed by his own brothers.

f. As long as you remain committed to this vision, you will reap the reward.

Ask yourself the question today, are you walking with an original vision or that of someone else? May be it is time to go after your own vision and if you cannot due to lack of one, please go on your knees and ask for God to give you your own vision, for one of the promises God made with regards to our salvation in Christ remain:

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.

Remember it is those with vision who managed to impact their generations!
