John 6:48

I am the bread of life.

Armed for battle

Ephesians 6:11-12 Put on all the armor that God gives you, so that you will be able to stand up against the Devil's evil tricks. For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.

For us to be able to put the word to use, we need to pay close attention to what the word is saying to us. One of the warnings the scriptures gave to us is that we live in a dangerous and insecure world; as a matter of fact it likens it to a battle zone... Each day we hear of wars, devastation that in one swoop takes away countless lives, man's inhuman treatment of one another, and the activities of wicked people that appear to be on the increase. We see corruption in private and government circles that continue to impoverish their own people subjecting them to untold sufferings and woes, with many dying as a result. We see how helplessness of the governments of this world are, despite the resources at their disposal yet they neither fail to secure nor are in the position to guarantee peace. The truth is, they cannot.

They cannot because they do not understand the enemy; they cannot because they do not have what it takes to confront the enemy. This is the world which the rebellious and sinful nature of man under the control of kingdom of darkness have created, a chaotic world; both the righteous and the wicked are caught up in it. But God who is faithful has not left the righteous defenseless and vulnerable; he has provided the righteous his protection and has guaranteed them his victory. But there is a condition. attached, it remains the responsibility of the righteous to put on the armor that God has provided. The scripture mentioned a place called the secret place of the Most High, a Spiritual land of Goshen, a place of refuge where the righteous can run to and be safe. In our scripture today, we are informed not only about the nature of the enemy, but also the manner of weapon and armory that we can deploy in this battle, we are told to be diligent in the way we go about it, saying to us- put on the full armor. We must pay close attention to these details, therein lies the power of God to keep safe those who trust in him.  May the battle of life not claim anyone of us in Jesus name, Amen.

1 Corinthians 15:55-57
“?Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
