John 6:35

Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

Be prudent with your faith.....

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.  For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. - Romans 16:17-20

A lot is going on in the body of Christ these days that has left many questioning the integrity of the faith, the activities of those whom Paul described as the enemies of the cross and who by their diabolical actions bring the the church to disrepute thereby causing the name of the Lord to be blasphemed.

The truth be told there is a lot of intrigues going on in the body of Christ that not only impugn her credibility,  but one which sadly makes even the unbelievers to recoil in horror at the shame of those who ought to know better but are found wanting.

1Peter 4:17  For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

There is a reason why judgement would begin from within the household of God, this is because heaven is not oblivious nor does it plan to ignore the activities of these people, who working from within set out to destroy the faith of others, both the ones who are hindered from coming to faith and the ones who are made to stumble by their actions. The scripture made it absolutely clear that the one whom they serve, the very one whom they sold their souls to in exchange for earthly rewards will be judged and crushed, he will be put away for good, ditto those who serve his cause.

While the non-believers might be caught unawares and be surprised by what is going on in the body of Christ , because nothing has prepared them for such , as aresult of wrongly believing that everyone claiming to be a believer is actually one, we on the other hand must be careful not to find ourselves in the same position. I can still recollect the shock on the faces of a family that i was having some biblical discussions with, this came about as a result of informing them that all the the ills that Paul pointed out in his letters actually took place in the church and that his letters were actually addressed to the church and not to those on the outside 1Corinthians 5:9-13. They were taken aback by this simple truth, for to them everyone in the church belonged to Christ and were free of such ills.

This a big lie, one which believers succumb to at a great price unfortunately, it is a lie because the scripture never maintained this position. Our Lord mentioned the parable of the gardener who planted a garden and how his enemy sowed tares among the good seeds. Our Lord mentioned that not everyone calling Lord ! Lord !! is known by him, in fact the scripture made it abundantly clear that the Lord knows those who are his. And in today's passage, Paul issued a warning to the church along this line while instructing the members of the body of Christ to exercise prudence and discernment.

Jude 1:3-4 Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ

The truth therefore be told, we have been given a precious gift, the gift of faith, and as a result everything we believe about our salvation and hope to benefit from it, is closely bound to this faith. Just as we need clean air to survive, this faith must be preserved in its purest form., we have the responsibility therefore to guard and protect it,. We have the instruction to contend for the true faith and refuse to allow those who have crept in for the purpose of destroying it to have their way. We have been given the resources that we need to help us do this, but the onus is on us to make use of these resources 1John 2:26-27. One of the parting words of our Lord to the disciples he was leaving behind was... watch and pray, same still applies to evreryone called by the name of the Lord today.

1 Corinthians 15:55-57
“?Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
