John 6:49 -50

Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die.

Beware of dogs...

Philippians 3:2  Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision
One of the mistakes many believers often make in their study of the scripture is to come across verses like this and to automatically assume they are addressed to those outside the church especially because of the strong language used.
I remember how surprised a couple were when I pointed out to them that the evils Paul pointed in his letters were actually taking place in the church, that his letters actually set out to address them. Many would feel uncomfortable that such strong words is used to describe anyone in the church.
However  the scripture enjoined every believer to contend for the true faith, pointing the church to the activities of ungodly men and women who undetected have crept in to join in their fellowship , doing so with the aim of undermining the integrity of the faith (Jude 1:3-4). The scripture warned of men and women who are like dark blemishes and spots, defiling the fellowship of saints (Jude 1:12). But before we go lumping everyone together by saying since these are in the church then they must be part of her. Nothing could be farther from the truth than this, not when we take some timet to understand the origin,  the nature as well the motives of the people so described.
To start with we are told that they crept in, in other words they were not invited and should not have been there to start with. Their motives and objectives for joining remains questionable, driven solely by the desire to accomplish the work of the one who sent them in exchange for a reward.  We are told that they are agents of the devil, but given the ability to masquerade as angels of light (2 Corinthians 11:14-15), therefore they can easily deceive and mingle freely with the unwary believers. We are told that their motives is driven not by any spiritual gain, rather their belly is their god. To mammon they have pledged their allegiance, while greed, lust, debauchery and filthy lucre is the reward they have mortgaged their souls for. We are informed by the history of both the old and the new testament church, that they have always been around, doing the work of their father the devil (2 Timothy 3:8-9).
There is nothing surprising about their activities, nor should the church be in the position where she is caught unaware or appear powerless against what appears to be a new trend in her history. If she and her children finds herself in this position, then she must have ignored the many warnings similar to the one we are looking at today.  While sending out his disciples, our Lord told them that they were like lambs being sent out among wolves. In order to be able to distinguish the sheep from wolves, our Lord said, 'by their fruits/works you shall know them'. The best way to evaluate these works was taught to the church by the Apostles by instructing her to test all spirits, since not all of them belong to Christ. Not all who shout the name of Christ belong to him, testing the spirit in which such operate is what easily give them away.
Now it is the light of this that Paul instructed the Church saying:
Phillipians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
It is no use pointing fingers or casting aspersion on all believers, not all pastors are fake, not all churches are synagogues of the devil, yes there are fakes left and right, but let no one be deceived, the Lord knows those who are his. The scripture made us to understand that the Lord has set aside those who will be saved and nothing can corrupt or make them stumble. Elijah thought no genuine believer was left, but he was given a rude awakening when told that there remain seven thousand who had not defiled themselves (1 Kings 19:18).
All the churces you know may have turned to demons, all the pastors you have met or heard of  may have gone the way of Balaam, all the believers you have met may be two faced, hypocrites bible waving devil serving ones, nevertheless  there remain a certain number preserved by the power of  word and the power of.the Holy Spirit , on standby to serve as witnesses and examples of those who worked on their faith with fear and trembling, knowing it was a gift given to them and their responsibility to protect and guard it jealously by putting on the whole armour of God as made available to them.
While it is true that your faith may have been tampered with in the past by people or events in the places you have been to, my message to you today, do not cast away your faith, the reason it was attacked in the first place is because it promises a great reward. To deny you of it, the enemy of your soul is willing to hire and pay any amount to a band of agents who would do his biddings. But are they going to get away with it? Definitely not, God wiill recompense them with his own judgement, fort there is reserved a place for them, a fiery furnace where they would spend eternity paying for the faith of every soul they destroyed. He who has ears let him hear!
1 Peter 1:18-19
“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”
