Proverbs 23:17-18 Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

Perhaps one of biggest temptations which those who set their heart to follow God as well as the desire to keep his ways are daily confronted with, is one which comes when such look around and they see the godless prosper and excel, and their lives appear to be trouble free.

The heart of many have been lured away as they struggle within themselves trying to answer why they should continue on a path that appears not to give to them the desires of their heart while those who have no regard for God and his instructions do appear to prosper in life, getting whatever they set their hearts upon.

Truth be told, the scripture never said that the godless would not enjoy fleeting pleasure and prosperity here on earth, nor did it promise that only the God fearing would experience that which is good in this life. Instead the scripture holds a deeper view and insight about our existence, seeing far beyond what we can see and understand. The scripture takes the complete picture while encouraging man to seek after God and refuse to allow himself to be sidetracked by the incomplete picture of what he or she sees around him. The scripture encourages us that the only narrative about life worth investing our hopes upon, is that which is told by the God narrative and as such it should be pursued with every ounce of our strength.

Matthew 7:7-8
“[Ask, Seek, Knock] ?Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
