Isaiah 55 : 1-2

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labour on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.

Submit to God

Job 22:21 “Submit to God and be at peace with him;in this way prosperity will come to you.

It is easy to ascribe the lack of peace or the incessant struggles we go through in life to the operations of certain unseen hands or forces of the enemy..this we do with a certain conviction that often blinds us to other possibilities. We end up chasing shadows as a result. For those who have been redeemed of the Lord,

we need to ask ourselves on a regular basis before joining the ranks of those who ascribe everything to the devil, why is the one declared victorious in Christ still living in such great fear of the one he has been given victory over? Could it be because such is not walking in the victory which his salvation in Christ has delivered him into?

Now we need to address another issue while trying to answer these see when the redeemed spends so much time fighting the enemy, when such spends so much time slashing at the winds in pursuit of some perceived dark forces or unseen hands of the devil, the question arises when does such have the time to worship and praise God? Yes there is the need and time for spiritual warfare and the message today is not against it, rather the message is directed towards those who spend all their time pursuing the devil while ignoring certsin truths. The message is for those who spend all their time talking about what the devil is doing in or what he is threatening to do to them. Such can recite what the enemy can do without batting an eyelid, yet cannot remember the last good deed they received from God. Such spend so much attention on the devil with little or no time to worship and meditate on the goodness of God. To such the devil is more real to them than Jesus who actually walked the earth in flesh and declared them victorious. To such the threat of the devil holds much water than the promises of God as reveaoed by his word. When believers find themselves in this position...they have given themselves over to a form of devil worship, since they have more fear and more reverence for him than the One who purchased them with his blood.

Now, the reason why believers might find themselves in this position is what this message brings to our attention. The scripture enjoins us to submit ourselves to God as well as make our peace with him, the manner of submission implied here is not in parts or by submitting only the parts of our lives that is convenient to offer. The manner of submission implied here is total, encompassing everything...body, mind and spirit. When we do such, we come under his covering and the power of his annointing, it is the annointing power that enables us to walk in the victory which our salvation in Christ has delivered us into. We cannot activate or invoke this power without the submission of our will to him. This annointing cannot work when we are still struggling with him to have our own way...for many believers this is the real source of their lack of peace and not neccesarily the devil, for Christ has indeed placed the enemy under our feet. But it takes standing in the power of the annointing through our wholesome submission, to draw on all that this victory bequeaths. There is a reward when we do this, the promise of God's prosperity....please hear me well. I am not talking of the bastardised prosperity that is turning the church into a theatre of comedy and an arena of the prosperity implied here is one whose hallmark is the all surpassing peace of God.

How did Peter put this again- 1Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

1 Corinthians 15:55-57
“?Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
