Psalm 1: 2-3

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

You are accountable for every miracle, signs and wonders received or witnessed

Mathew 11:20 — 21 Then he began to denounce the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent. “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

At some point in time in the our walk of faith, we need to sit down and take stock by asking ourselves some real questions about our faith, one of the question we need to ask ourselves is...what role does signs and wonders play in faith?

From the time when Moses was sent to set free the Isrealites from bondage in Egypt with great demonstration of signs and wonders, to the time they were led through the red sea and were led for 40 years in the wilderness while experiencing the great mighty presence of Jehovah, being fed with manna, drinking water from rocks, defeating mighty nations, having the wall of Jericho pulled down, from that time till the days when the Son of God Jesus walked on earth, healing the sick, feeding thousands, walking on water and calming the storm, rasing the dead, healing the lame, the blind, the deaf and dumb, and the greatest miracle of all, his ressurection and ascension that brought death to its knees, history records for every believer the acts of great signs and wonders .

It did not stop there, history also records for us the acts of the Apostles men and women who continued in the name and authority of Jesus, fillled and inspired by the power of the Holy Spirit in fulfilment of the promise by Jesus...that the power and authority to demonstrate God's power is given to those who believe and for the work of the gospel....the power to bring about signs and wonders is with us and still is even as i type this message. But we must ask ourselves....what exactly is the role of signs and wonders in our walk of faith?

To start with, it is not given for entertainment, something which sadly some have turned it into, and as a result some would indulge in anything to bring the show to town like a circus..... Moses said:
Deuteronomy 8:16 who fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end.

Right from the time when God began to demonstrate his power and glory in the midst of men, it was done with a message behind it, the signs and miracles were not the end rather they point the beneficiaries and witnesses to a message. We can say therefore that signs and wonders are bearers of a message.

Truth be told even as our Lord stated in today's message, signs, wonders and miracles were given for a purpose, they serve a role in our walk of faith, everyone and anyone who has benefitted from it will be held accountable for the message which such was meant to impart to them. We must be careful not to lose sight of this, we must be careful not to miss out on the message, it is not enough to pine after these miracles alone, it is not enough to run after men and women of God for miracles, visions and signs alone, doing so at the expense of the message behind it, those who do so would end up like the ones Jesus denounced as having no fruit of repentance.

Let me round up by saying this, whatever miracle a man or woman receives, if such misses out on the message behind would have been better for such not to have received the miracle at all, for at least they would be able give an excuse just like the people of Sodom.....

I pray therefore that your miracle comes in earnest and when it does, you would not be blinded to the message behind it, because it is the message that would deliver the permanent blessing and reward to your faith in Christ Jesus.
